Dr. Thomas Parry is the co-founder and president of the Integrated Benefits Institute (IBI), a San Francisco-based independent, national organization that provides research, full-cost benchmarking, and analysis to improve health and productivity management through the integration of employee benefits. In his role, he leads all of IBI’s major initiatives and stewards the organization’s research, measurement/modeling, and benchmarking programs.
Before co-founding IBI in 1995, Dr. Parry served as research director at the California Workers’ Compensation Institute (CWCI) for 11 years. His research at CWCI encompassed a wide variety of topics in workers’ compensation, including medical treatment patterns, rehabilitation costs and effectiveness, medical utilization, mental stress claims, and physical therapy patterns of care. While at CWCI, Dr. Parry was engaged in some of the earliest research and analysis on 24-hour coverage and integrated benefits.
Dr. Parry speaks on integrated benefits and health and productivity issues at conferences and symposia in the United States and internationally. He served for five years as research advisor to the Roadway Express Inc. Medical Board. Dr. Parry received his bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees from the University of California, Berkeley.
